She was a treasured board member for the Fairmount-Carlisle 353 Redevelopment Corporation for several years and good steward for the northwest community of Independence. She was always interesting and positive to be around and was not afraid to think outside of the box! From the Board of Directors, our sympathy to the family.

Kathryn was a blessing to my life. Although I took care of her, there were many times- she in turn did the same for me. She held my hand, in times of happiness and in sadness. We had numerous memorable talks, and touched my heart in ways that I can not express. I truly was blessed to have had the opportunity to take care of her and thoroughly enjoyed her company. My children also loved coming to visit her. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time.

Kathy was a good friend and neighbor. We enjoyed many lively conversations, "Native Sons and Daughters of Greater Kansas City" meetings and dinners on the town. She was very active in the Independence Neighborhood Watch, tirelessly organizing and maintaining our "Hardy Bunch" block watch group, block parties and writing its monthly newsletters. I will miss her and her positive, giving and cheerful attitude. All the best to her family and friends at this difficult time. Glenn G. Higley
