Condolence From: Larry Hood
Condolence: I am sorry to learn of Dick’s passing. I worked with him for several years at the Kansas City Plant. He was well thought of, respected and liked by all of us who knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Condolence From: Jim Overbay
Condolence: It's hard to top Bob Sands' thoughtful comments. I can only say Dick was one of the most memorable friends of my Youth. We were friends from elementary, junior high, senior high and junior college. Probably never had a friend who was always so upbeat and cheerful. He hid his intelligence behind his constant smile and funny one-liners. As Bob mentioned, he was our "Neat Guy."
And that' s not just an insider knickname, he truly was a Neat Guy. One of your lifetime's memorable friends and characters.

Condolence: Oh Neat Guy, I will miss your living soul but your memory will last beyound your death. The times we had -- more than a tome of great stories. I headed to the Northeast yearbook when I heard of your death and grinned all the more, relishing life, not death. Cross over the bridge with Nash, Carpo and Jack. Pat Collins' joint. Playing pitch with Jack's mother, the pit boss. Then filling Overbay's car with smoke on the way to Junior College. When I returned from Vegas to KC, meeting with you was like flying through time. I don't think I thanked you enough for helping me sell my novel. You were a friend to many and that stands as a tribute to you. One of the good guys, you blazed a trail for wonderful times. With imagery, I toast you with a dime draw from Collins.
