Roy Hill and my dad, David Hines, worked together at Armco Steel in Works Engineering. My dad was there from 1964-1982 when he retired. He and Roy remained in touch through the years, and when I called Dad this morning to tell him the sad news, he said he had not gotten a response to his Christmas card in December and wondered if Roy was gone. My dad is a quiet, reserved person who hasn't had a lot of really close friends, but Roy was one of them. He always spoke very highly of him. Dad lives in Michigan and is 93 now, so he won't be able to travel to Kansas City for the memorial, but he asked me to convey his sympathies to the Hill family.
