Doris Salyer, 94, of Independence, MO passed away January 21, 2020. A Memorial visitation will be held from 2-4pm Sunday, January 26, 2010 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Doris was born on October 2, 1925 in Cameron, MO, one of 6 children born to Bryan and Bertha (Fore) Cannon. In 1950 Doris married the love of her life, Bill Salyer. They spent almost 70 years together. Doris enjoyed taking care of her family and home. She took great pride in her flower gardens, and cooking family meals. She will be forever remembered for her Apple Butter (made with the occasional Red Hots!), Peanut Butter Fudge, homemade noodles, and biscuits and gravy. Doris was a huge Royals fan, and enjoyed collecting Royals memorabilia over the years. Doris was greatly loved and will be forever missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: husband Bill Salyer; daughter Debra Moravac and her husband Anthony; daughter Deanna Boswell and her husband Tracy; and daughter Carol Jorgensen; grandchildren Justin and Sean Boswell; great grandchildren Kayson Boswell, Kylan Boswell, Rese Collins, Samantha Moravac and Mason Moravac; extended family and many friends. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister and 4 brothers.
