I had the privilege of being Jo Ann's cousin. It was a privilege. I am an only child and Jo Ann was the closest I had to a sister. She even lived with my folks and me one year in high school while her family was in Calif. We got up at 6 a.m. (my dad's rule), did chores together, rode the school bus together, and probably quarreled; although I don 't remember any.
M y earliest memories of Jo Ann is playing with her and her younger sister, Carolyn. I remember around Easter time, the three of us, plus Jo and Darlene Estes would always have a picnic together. Usually the Dogwood trees would be in bloom.
As we grew up and started our families life came between us. It has been in the later years when our families were grown, that we became the closest. I spent a lot of nights in John and Jo Ann's home and then later with Jo Ann, I always had a great time visiting, going out to eat and talking of the by-gone days.
My most precious memory of Jo Ann, took place after my husband passed away. She came down to Springfield to visit me for several days. We visited the cemeteries; Bell View, Mossy, Turkey Creek Chapel. We also visited her niece, Hedy, her aunt living in the old home place, and her hi school friend, Evelyn. It was a happy time. She was a great cousin, kind and loving. She loved her Lord, her church, her family and her pets. She always made me feel very special. I loved her and will never forget her.

I will miss seeing Jo Ann at church. It was always a pleasure to greet her and see her smile. My heartfelt condolences to her family. Nina Terrell
