Mary Acree

Mary Ellen Acree, 62 of Odessa, MO passed away, Sunday, May 12, 2013 at St. Mary’s Manor in Blue Springs, MO. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2013 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will be in Greenton Cemetery in Odessa, MO. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made in her name to Crossroads Hospice. Mary was born October 2, 1950 in Bragg City, MO to Thomas Allison and Mary Elizabeth (Harris) Chiles. She had worked as the office manager for Acree Industries for a number of years. She enjoyed working outdoors, quilting, knitting, crocheting, embroidery and reading. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Blue Springs, MO where she enjoyed volunteer work, taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She was also involved in Breast Cancer Awareness, Race for the Cure and Relay for Life. She is survived by; her husband Steve of the home; a daughter, Melissa Glazier and husband Alex of Kensington, KS; a step daughter, Christine Schaben and husband Ian of Raymore, MO; a step son, Bryan Acree and wife Becky Blue Springs, MO; a brother, Thomas Allison Chiles and wife Judy of Birmingham, AL; 2 sisters, Shirley Butler and husband Herschel of Mayview, MO and Francis Holland of Paragould, AR and 4 step grandchildren.
