Landis was born September 6, 1970 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was diagnosed with Leukemia October 31, 1974. He was the Poster Child for the National Leukemia Society from 1975-1977. With God’s help he overcame that battle and lived the rest of his life cancer free. Apart from a short time spent in Colorado, where he enjoyed the mountains and fresh air, he lived his life in the Independence area. He was very creative and had a great sense of humor. Landis loved the outdoors: fishing, hiking, traveling and camping. He also enjoyed playing guitar and cooking. Barbequing was his specialty. Landis always enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his daughter Timberley. They spent many hours playing games, fishing and laughing together. She was “Daddy’s Girl”. Being young at heart, he also enjoyed entertaining his niece and nephew. They loved their Uncle Landis. He was his mother’s joy and her best friend. Telephone conversations with her always ended in the words, “I love you”. Landis was preceded in death by his father, Michael Sutton; sister, Kendra Sutton; grandmother, Almeda Foster; and uncle Kenneth Foster. He is survived by his daughter and best friend, Timberley Allen; parents, Jerry and Alreda Adams; sister, Angelynn Presley; niece, Larissa; nephew, Kyler Presley; grandfather, Tommie Foster; and uncle, Donald Foster. Landis was greatly loved and will be remembered by all. He will always be alive in our hearts.
