Agnes Ann Dye, 90, passed away peacefully on her birthday, August 14, 2025, surrounded by the loving presence of her granddaughters. Born in 1935 to farmer Tommy Lee and homemaker Linnie (nee) Perry, in Lepanto, Arkansas, Agnes moved to Kansas City when she was 17.
She was first married to Gerald Henderson, with whom she had two sons. Later, she married W. Ralph Dye, and together they built a life in Sibley, MO, raising three daughters. A dedicated and hardworking woman, Agnes retired from Wilcox Electric. After retirement, she moved to Independence, MO.
Agnes was the oldest of 10 children and is survived by 2 sisters, 3 brothers, 5 children, 9 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Speaks Suburban Funeral Home in Independence, MO, with visitation at 9:00 a.m. and graveside services to follow.
Her family finds comfort in knowing that her journey has come full circle — arriving and departing this world on the very same day. Flowers and gifts are not necessary. Instead, please keep the family in your thoughts.
