Chuck served in the United States Air Force with honor, stationed in various locations, including Japan and the Aleutian Islands. He was always very proud of his military service. On July 14, 1973, Chuck married Judy Seawell, who he met at Fort Wayne Bible College. Their life together began in Dutton, Montana before moving to Higginsville, Missouri and then settling in Independence, Missouri to raise their three children, Tony, Sarah, and Meghan.

He was heavily involved in the Mail Systems Management Association (MSMA) where he started a Kansas City chapter and later served for one year as the association’s President.

Chuck was often heard sharing many stories from his life and often would share the most important event of his life was when he trusted in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 19 years old. He would then quickly share the next most important event of his life was marrying Judy, an event he knew God orchestrated. A faithful member of CrossWay Bible Church for 35 years, Chuck served as an Elder Team member, Community Group leader, and led the Senior Adult Ministry and Welcome Team.

Chuck had a passion for people and loved serving and knowing them through hospitality and care. He enjoyed Costco runs, databases & spreadsheets, road trips, and vanilla milkshakes.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Jimmie, and his brother Hubert. He is survived by his brothers Aaron and his wife Louise of Topeka, Kansas, and Ralph and his wife Bonnie of Polo, Missouri. Chuck is also survived by his loving wife Judy, son Tony and his wife Kirsten, daughter Sarah and her husband Seth Bledsoe, and daughter Meghan and her husband Husky Weibling.
