Alberta Mae Franciskato passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2023. She was 84 years old. Alberta was born to Albert and Esther (Busse) Franciskato on October 6, 1939 in Lexington, Missouri.
Alberta was a lifelong resident of Independence and graduated from William Chrisman High School. Her passion for literature led her to her career as a librarian for the Kansas City public library for over 30 years until retirement. She was a simple, reserved woman but had a great sense of humor. Alberta learned to play the organ and piano at a young age and enjoyed singing in her church choir. She was a member of Saint Lukes United Church of Christ most of her life. Alberta was a fan of working crossword puzzles and making homemade jewelry for her loved ones before she became ill several years ago. Her kind presence will be missed greatly by her friends and family.
Alberta is survived by her brothers, Larry Franciskato (Sharon) and David Franciskato (Lisa); three nephews, 4 great-nephews and 2 great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Esther.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29th from 9:30-10:30am at Carson-Speaks Chapel in Independence, Missouri. Her funeral service will begin at 10:30am with burial to follow at Mount Washington Cemetery.
