William Troy “Bill” Alderson, 62, Buckner, MO passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the University of Kansas Medical Center after successfully battling leukemia.
Bill was born December 22, 1950 in Independence, MO, the son of James and Wilma (Boosinger) Alderson. He was enthusiastic about all that he would do whether it was work, collecting or spending time with family. Bill founded, owned and operated the Alderson Construction Company. He attended Oakland United Methodist Church. Bill enjoyed restoring just about anything with wheels, especially trucks and tractors. He was a member of the Stovebolt Truck Club, the American Truck Historical Society (ATHS), the Genuine GMC Chevy Truck Club and many others. Bill also enjoyed traveling with his wife in their motor coach. One of his hobbies was farming because he loved working outdoors and seeing a crop through from seed to harvest.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Patti Alderson; son, Wayne T. Alderson and wife Tonya; daughter, Amy Murray and husband Brian; grandchildren, Troy, William, Dylan, Nate and Harrison; mother Wilma Alderson; sister, Cheryl Robertson; brothers, James and Gary Alderson; and additional nieces, nephews and family. Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Alderson, and his father, James Alderson.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO 64052. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
