James Alger

September 27, 1924 — June 7, 2010

James Arthur “Jim” Alger, 85, formerly of Independence, MO passed away Monday, June 7, 2010 at Kansas City Hospice House surrounded by his family. Cremation with inurnment in Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. Jim was born September 27, 1924 in Des Ark, AR to James Arthur and Lillah Novice (Prothro) Alger. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Alger is survived by his sons Don Burke and wife Rita, Michael Alger and wife Sharon, Larry Alger and wife Valerie, David Alger and wife Jeanie; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Alger; and one son.
