Alison (Alley) Renee Bonavia passed away tragically on April 30, 2025. Alley was born on December 29, 1979 to Marsha Whitmore and Lawrence Bonavia Jr, who have both preceded her in death. Growing up, she either won you over with her quick sense of humor or she knocked you out. She was incredibly outspoken and outgoing. If she didn’t love you, you knew it. On the other hand, if she liked you, you also knew it.
She worked at Kellogg’s, where her supervisors described her as hardworking. She loved gardening, refurbishing furniture, and sitting on her porch with her cigarette and coffee. She loved making people laugh and she was best at making anything a joke. She will be so dearly missed because her presence was so loud. You always knew when she was around, whether she was cleaning, dancing, singing, or talking too loud on the phone. She loved smelling good and looking good. She dressed up just to go to work. She loved saying that she aged like fine wine.
The most important thing to her was her family. She is survived by her three siblings: Christopher, Angela, and Lawrence. She leaves behind five children: Tina (29), Ashley (27), Chelsea (21), Grayce (19), and Christian (17); her "soul sista” Naiomi Morrow; and four grandchildren: Drake (14), Mya (6), Khaled (3), and Lilah (1 month). She’d be mad if we didn’t include her fur babies: Ralph and Husband and her grand-fur babies: Tugy, Mr. Jones, and Bruno. She was a wonderful mother, grandma, and sister. Her time here was cut way too short.
A visitation will be held Sunday, May 18 from 1pm-3pm at Speaks Chapel in Independence, MO. She loved color and so wearing black to her celebration of life is the opposite of what my mom would have wanted. Contributions are suggested to Kansas City Pet Project in lieu of flowers.
