Joseph C. Allen

Joseph C. Allen, 87, of Kansas City, MO passed away November 26, 2015. Joe was born in Alvord, IA on February 14, 1928 to Clem and Vera. Joe started work as a teacher (which he enjoyed), became a farmer (which he said was hard), was stationed in Guam during WWII, and spent thirty years as a government employee. He was something of a raconteur and talked the ear off of just about anyone he encountered. He was an avid reader, model aircraft builder and flyer, and enjoyed golf during his retirement years. Joe is survived by his wife, Betty Allen (nee Van Ash) of Larchwood, IA, who he married in 1949. He is also survived by his children Jeff, Jari (Dana), Tom, Vicki (Dave) Benyo, Michele, Terry, Jim, Tim (Janice), Lori (Yezid), 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at St. Peter’s Church, 815 E.
