Lois Allen

Lois Allen, 61, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Monday, June 20, 2011 in the chapel. Cremation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Dr., Suite 105, Danvers, MA 01923. Lois was born December 24, 1949 in Iola, KS to Neal Eugene and Reba Mae (Van Houten) Glasco. She was united in marriage to Glen Allen, Jr. on August 10, 1973. Mrs. Allen graduated from William Chrisman High School and Southern Missouri University. Lois was passionate about volunteering and helping others. She volunteered at Union Station, Independence Regional Hospital, Centerpoint Medical Center, Anchorage Alaska Food Bank, and Special Neighbors until medical retirement. Lois is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Glen Allen; daughters Kellyanne James and husband Todd, Laurie Perry and husband Travis; five grandchildren; brothers Glenn Glasco, Bill Glasco. She was preceded in death by her father Neal Glasco.
