Margaret Lee Allen, 76, Independence, MO passed away unexpectedly Nov. 10, 2008. Services will be at 10 am, Friday, Nov. 14 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Independence School District, Raymond & Margaret Allen Scholarship Fund.
Margaret was born Jan. 22, 1932 in Independence and was a life-long resident. She graduated from William Chrisman High School and maintained many close relationships with friends from school throughout her life. She was co-owner along with her husband Raymond of R.G. Allen Construction Company. She was a life-long member of the 39th Street Congregation Community of Christ and in past years was active in the Young Matrons of Independence and P.T.A. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by brothers Thomas Crick, Jr. and Robert Crick and sister Betty Goeking. She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years Raymond G. Allen, of the home; daughter Jill Ekey, Independence, MO; sons Christopher Allen and wife Peggy, Lawrence, KS; Raymond Allen, Jr. and wife Roxanne, Longview, TX; Patrick Allen and wife Stephanie, Lee’s Summit, MO; brother John Crick and wife Shirley; sister Lillian Alumbaugh and husband Robert, all of Independence, MO; sister Nancy Wood and husband Jim Wood, Illinois; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
