Virginia Allen

Virginia L. Allen, 84, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Centerpoint Medical Center. Virginia was born on November 7, 1928, to Darrell and Agnes McLees, and was a life-long resident of Independence, Missouri. As a member of the Liberty Street Community of Christ, Virginia served as a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher. Virginia leaves behind her beloved husband of fifty-eight years, Don, of Independence, MO; daughter, Lynda and; husband, Myron, of Sibley, MO; and sons, David of Sibley, MO and Bill Allen, of Oak Grove, MO; granddaughters, Jaqueline Whiting and husband, Ryan of Independence, MO and Morgan Conom and husband, Josh of Madison, WI; grandsons, Brandon and Brett Allen; great-grandsons, Aidan and Gabriel Whiting, and Elliott Conom; as well as siblings, Darrell, Lawrence and Loretta McLees. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Kansas City Hospice and St. Luke’s Hospice. There will be visitation for Virginia on Sunday, March 17, from 6-8 p.m. with funeral services to be held on Monday, March 18, 2013, at 10 a.m.; both to be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO.
