Ruth Marie Alley Shepard, 74, of Levasy, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2008. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children. She was born November 21, 1933 on Beals Island, Maine, to Cindy and Orrin Alley. During her teenage years, she moved to Stonington, Maine and graduated in 1951 from Stonington High School. She dedicated her life to raising five children. She was an outstanding Mother and friend to all that she knew. She was very active with church activities that included women’s leader, music director, and spent endless hours donating her time cooking for church camps. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Zion’s Hope Restoration Branch in Levasy Missouri, and touched the lives of many with her musical gifts. Friends expressed she was a giving, wonderful, thoughtful, considerate, empathetic person who was always there for everyone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was predeceased in death by her Father, Orrin Alley, and two brothers, Lewis and Carl. She will be sadly missed by her Mother, Cindy Alley, and her five children, Katherine Baskou and her husband Kabir, Carla Wallace and her husband, John, Michael Shepard and his wife Suzy, all of Stonington, Maine, Holly Teator and her husband Thomas of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Jenni Pettengill and her husband Aaron of Levasy, Missouri. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, Cindy Heanssler, John and Joseph Wallace, Matthew and Patrick Shepard, Sarah Thomas, Heidi Harlan, and Zachery and Tyler Pettengill, and even more blessed with five great grandchildren, Bradley Heanssler, Julie Wallace, Shelby and Addie Mae Harlan, and Lacey Thomas. Left to treasure her memories are many nieces, nephews, and special friends. The family will welcome visitors on Wednesday, March 12th from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Zion’s Hope Restoration Branch Church. Funeral services will be held following visitation at 7:00 PM. A memorial service is planned on Friday, March 21st at 6:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ Restoration Branch in Sunset, Maine.
