Claude Alvin Allin, 94, Independence, MO passed away May 12, 2011. A graveside service will be at 10 am, Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055.
Alvin was born April 18, 1917 in Independence to Claude E. Allin and Jeneva (Loveland) Allin. He graduated from Northeast High School. He worked for Coca Cola for over thirty years and also co-owned and operated various businesses in Independence including Quality Produce, Allin’s Bait, Tackle and Gun Shop and the Covered Wagon Flea Market. He loved to hunt and fish.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dean L. Allin. He is survived by his wife of seventy-two years Dorothy Sue Allin, of the home; son Jerry A. Allin and wife Bonnie, Independence, MO; Larry D. Allin and wife Rena, Lake Lotawana, MO; David L. Allin and wife Sharon; Michael E. Allin and wife Sandra, all of Independence, MO; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
