Eloise F. Allingham, 101, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the Ridgewood Congregation of the Community of Christ, 4341 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133. Private inurnment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church piano fund. Eloise was born February 26, 1909 in Chariton, IA to Louis W. and Jessie M. (Morey) Moffet. She was a faithful member of the Community of Christ Church for 93 years. Until the day before her death, she remained an active volunteer at Truman Medical Center-Lakewood, a member of her bridge club, and a frequent supporter of her great-grandsons’ activities. She was an avid golfer into her 90’s. Her joy for life and positive attitude are an inspiration to her many friends and family members. She is survived by her daughter Janis (Williams) Mader and husband Charles; Son Capt. Jim Allingham, USN (Ret) and wife Elizabeth; grandchildren Cheryl Mark and husband Greg, Cynthia Kaleikau and husband Robert, Catherine Sheridan and husband Dave, Rand Allingham and wife Anna, Joel Allingham and wife LouEllen; great-grandchildren Ryan and Laura Mark, Tyler and Jordan Mark, Taylor and Jace Kaleikau, Will and Henry Sheridan, Michael and Erin Allingham, Joe Allingham; niece Eloise Moffet and her children Brian and Amy Trenchak. Eloise was preceded in death by her husband R. Bruce Allingham and first husband Thomas A. Williams; brothers Charles and Paul Moffet. Eloise’s life of faith has made a difference in this world.
