Obert Lee Anderson, 85, Kansas City, MO passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 at his home with his family at his side.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Obert was born December 26, 1925 in Huntsville, AL the son of Howard and Florence (Towery) Anderson. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving in WWII and the Korean War. Obert was a residential and commercial painter. He loved being with his family and was an honest hard workingman. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lizzie in 2009, sons, John and Jerry Maynard; one sister and one brother.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Anderson; sons, Jack Anderson and his wife Phyllis, Charles Maynard and his wife Carole, and Loyd Maynard and his wife Jean; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and additional nieces, nephews, and family.
