Ivan Lee Andes, 91 of Independence, MO passed away Mar. 5, 2008 at the Groves Living Center. Services will be 11:00 am, Sat., Mar. 8, 2008 at the Community Center at the Groves, 1515 W. White Oak, Indep. MO, with the visitation being held from 10:00 am until service time. Burial in Md. Grove Cemetery. Ivan was born on May 31, 1916 at home in Lebeck, MO, the eighth of ten children. He was an Elder in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving the church faithfully his entire life. He married Mable Lonzo in 1948, and they were married for 59 years before her death this past January. Ivan worked for the Gleaner Combine Plant prior to working for the Gas Service Company from which he retired after 25 years. Ivan’s greatest joy was working for his church and ministering to people. He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law: Donald Andes of Independence, Wayne Andes and wife Linda of Independence and Cliff Andes and wife Connie of Oak Grove, MO. He also has five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law: Mary Andes of Independence, Irene Lewis of Sugar Creek, MO and Cece and Curt Shinabargar of Oak Grove, MO. Ivan also has many nieces and nephews and friends.
