Andrew B. "Andy" Vaught

Andrew Bryce “Andy” Vaught, 32 of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Centerpoint Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052 with burial to follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery.  Andy was born June 18, 1991 in Kansas City, MO to Randy and Cindy (Rathbun) Vaught and has been a lifelong area resident.  Andy was born with Down Syndrome and Autism.  He graduated in 2011 from Lakeview Woods State School.  He was a happy and unique person who enjoyed everything Disney related and his beloved dog Tinkerbell.  He enjoyed life and was truly loved by his family and friends.  Survivors include; his parents Randy and Cindy Vaught; 2 brothers, Don Vaught and his wife Ghislaine of St. Peters, MO and Kris Vaught and his wife Shona of Kansas City, MO; his special loving family, Rachel and Jermey Walker of Independence, MO; a nephew, Josh; 3 nieces, Alyssa, Audrey and Zelda and many other family members.  He was preceded in death by a nephew, Emery Vaught. Upon entering his forever home Andy was greeted with open arms from his maternal grandmother Martha Rathbun.
