Annetta Joyce Kelton

Annetta "Joyce" Kelton, 86, of Independence, MO, passed away in her home on August 18, 2023, after fighting a battle with cancer. She was born on May 18, 1937, in Green Forest, Arkansas to Walter Nicholas Rand and Gladys Stella (Stephens) Rand.

Joyce is survived by her children; Janice Bowen (Dennis) of Independence, MO, Danny Kelton (Helen) of Grain Valley, MO, grandchildren; Michele Dawbarn (John) of Olathe, KS, Kristin Sands (Ryan) of Overland Park, KS, and Derek Kelton (Megan) of Independence, MO, great grandchildren; Hazel Dawbarn, Jasper Dawbarn, Roman Sands, and Isla Sands.  She is preceded in death by her loving husband Gilford "Eugene", her parents Walter and Gladys Rand, brother James Rand, one sister Lucy Rabey, half-sisters Wilma Cantrell, Bonnie O'Neal, and a half-brother Lonnie Rand.

A visitation will be held for Joyce from 10-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Speaks Suburban Chapel (18020 E. 39th St S. Independence, MO) with a service following beginning at 11:00 a.m. She will be privately buried after her services at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens in Independence, MO.
