Gary Ashurst

Gary Frank Ashurst, Jr, 40 of Independence, MO passed away, Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Cremation is planned with a memorial visitation to be held from 5 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Gary was born April 17, 1968 in Ogden, UT to Gary Frank and Sandra C. (Sullivan) Ashurst, Sr. He grew up in Independence and attended William Chrisman High School. He and his wife owned and operated G & A Tree and Lawn Service in Independence. Gary enjoyed being outdoors riding ATV’s with his children and cutting wood. He was married to Victoria Glover in 1989; she survives of the home. Other survivors include; 2 sons, Corey Frank Ashurst and Dustin Earl Ashurst of Colfax, IA; 2 daughters, Ashley Marie Ashurst of Colfax, IA and Rachel Nicole Ashurst of Slayer, IA; a brother, Jamie Dean Ashurst of Bates City, MO; his mother, Sandra Ashurst of Bates City, MO and father, Gary Ashurst of Independence, MO and 2 grandchildren, Kayla Nicole McCormick and Tyler Shane McCormick.
