Dee Lee Askew, Sr. 41, Kansas City, MO, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010.
A Celebration on Dee Lee’s Life will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Twelve Gates Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
Dee was born in Kalamazoo, MI on September 28,1968 to Eunice Askew and Oscar McMurray. He was a longtime resident of the Kansas City area. He graduated form Central High School in 1987 and pursued several interests thereafter. Dee accepted Christ at an early age and was employed by several local businesses over the course of years following: The Kansas City Water Dept., Roberts Dairy, Deffenbaugh Disposal Service, and Gates and Sons to name a few. More recently his was enrolled at the BTC of Kansas City in hopes to further his education and career goals. Dee was a grandfather, father, son, grandson, brother, nephew, and friend. Most of all he was loved.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Eunice Askew of Kansas City, his five children; Christopher Askew, Charles (Aaron) Askew, of Seattle, WA. Asheley Ford and Dee Askew Jr., and Jurdan Robinson of Seattle, WA; granddaughter, Amiya Lee Ford; nephew Joseph Askew, San Diego, CA; Two brothers; Joseph Askew and Matthew Askew both of Kansas City. His maternal Grandmother Bertha Askew of Kansas City. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his cousin, Dan Duryea “Boo” Askew; uncle, Michael Askew; and aunt, Johnnie Mae Fuller.
