A gifted mechanical engineer, Jack began his career as a draftsman in 1954 for Butler Manufacturing Co. His career gained momentum as Engineering Section Head and Advisor in Research & Development for Benson Manufacturing Co. He felt his best work was done during his time as Chief Engineer/Sr. Project Engineer for Crimsco Inc and as Sr. Project Engineer for Burger King Corporation. It was in these positions he was able to bring together his analytical and creative sides to design and develop many specialty products. This includes the Burger King original electric chain broiler. Jack loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid square dancer and edited the Fed Facts Square Dance Magazine with his wife, Pat, for many years. He was an active member of First Baptist Raytown Church and greatly enjoyed his Sunday School class. Up until the last year of his life, Jack and his wife traveled extensively, sharing many wonderful adventures together. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Pat (Chaney); his daughter, Michelle Atkinson-Williams (Larry); sisters Shirley Lyons, and Peggy Gutridge (Roy).
