Frieda was born Sept. 4, 1926 in Pittsburg, KS to Hearl and Cecile (Swanson) Scott, the second of five children. She grew up in Medoc, MO and after graduation she moved to Independence and worked for the U.S. Army during the war. She married Robert Audet and together raised two daughters. Frieda was a faithful member of the Village Heights Community of Christ and the Laurel Club for more than 50 years where she held many offices including president for two years. In her spare time, Frieda enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking, quilting, and gardening, but most of all she cherished her family.
Frieda was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2002 and her parents. She is survived by her daughters: Phyllis Cole and husband Larry and Kimberly Newhard; grandchildren: Sarah Clark, Carolyn Wilkerson, and Kylie Newhard; great-grandchildren: Breanna and Luke Clark; siblings: Treva Hunter, Stella DuCharme, Stuart Scott, and Richard Scott; and a host of extended family and friends.
