Charles Badder

June 24, 1924 — January 22, 2011

Charles Edward “Bud” Badder passed away peacefully January 22nd surrounded by friends and family. He was born June 24th 1924 in Chatham, Ontario, Canada to Ammon and Lorena Badder; he was the second of five children and grew up in Independence, MO before traveling the world and serving his country in WWII.
Anyone and everyone that knew Bud can attest to his love of life, family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and two younger brothers, Ward and Bobby. Bud is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Mary Badder, of Independence, MO; Sisters: Maxine Hattey of Odessa, MO and Edith Keehler of Independence, MO; Daughters: Cheryl Simmons and Judith Patrick of Kansas City, MO and Becky Andes of Long Lane, MO; Grandchildren: Heather Claussen of Lewisville, Idaho, Amie Horn of Kansas City, MO, Shannon Campos of Tabasco, Mexico, and Cory Simmons of Cameron, MO; and three Great Grandchildren: Selena, Carlos Jr., and Ruben of Tabasco, Mexico.
Bud was active and outgoing everyday up until the week before he quickly passed. He absolutely loved spending time reading, eating out with friends, and working at the family-owned Blue Springs Truckline with nephew, Terry Badder, and great-nephews, Shad and Shon Badder.
Bud will be sorely missed but blessed the lives of everyone he met and will live on forever in their memories. A visitation will begin at 1:00 PM at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence with a Memorial Service to begin at 2:00 PM. For those members of the family and friends who wish to attend, the entombment of ashes will take place at Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Northcare Hospice House, 2800 Clay Edwards Dr., North Kansas City, MO 64116.
