Marsha Bailey

Marsha Lee Bailey, 61 of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 7:00 p.m., on Friday, June 10, 2011 at the College Park Community of Christ 1021 W. College St., Independence, MO 64050. Private inurnment will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society. Marsha was born April 5, 1950 in Concordia, KS to Robert D. and Joyce (Cowan) Bailey. She spent her early life in Shawnee, KS and graduated from Shawnee Mission West in 1968. She first worked as an office manager for Marsh McClellan Insurance Brokerage in Kansas City and Later moved with the company to San Francisco, CA, which became a very special time in her life. She later returned to Kansas City and worked as a Tax Examiner for the IRS for 10 years before she retired in 2010. She enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Community of Christ College Park Congregation. Marsha is survived by; her life partner, Beverly Meremonte of the home; her mother, Joyce Bailey of Independence, MO; siblings, James Bailey (Rebecca) Kathleen Apley (Theodore) and Bruce Bailey (Carolyn) all of Independence, MO; 7 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews.
