Tom Bajt, 42, of Independence passed away Wednesday, March 27th 2013. A visitation will be held from 9:00- 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 5th at St. Mark’s Catholic Church; 3736 Lees Summit Rd. Independence. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday following the visitation. Inurnment will be at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens, Independence, MO.
Tom was born April 1st 1970 in Joliet, IL to John and Mary Kay (Fiene) Bajt. They later relocated to Independence, MO where he was raised. He attended UMKC and received his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. Since then he has been passionately working for the protection of children for the greater Kansas City Metro. This unsung hero has saved the lives of thousands of children over the course of his career. Tom has also supported Hilltop Residential Center for youth for many years. Tom especially loved his rock music and his exercise routine at 24 Hour Fitness. He had a great sense of humor and loved watching comedy movies. Above all, Tom is loved and will be missed.
He is survived by his parents, John and Mary of Independence, MO; his beloved little sister, Joanne Bajt and significant other Jimmy Munger of Independence, MO; “Uncle,” Bill Lindley of Independence, MO; numerous aunt, uncles, and cousins and special friends and former partners on the investigation team, Tony Numberg and Larry Jackson. In lieu of flowers the family encourages memorial contributions to Autism Speaks.
