Olive Ballantyne

Wathena Ballantyne, 85, of Independence, MO peacefully passed away Tuesday, July 08, 2008 at Rosewood Health Center surrounded by her family. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Speaks. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Wathena was born September 7, 1922 in Sunbeam, CO to William and Wyoma (Woodfork) Woods. She was an active and faithful member of the RLDS Restoration Branch Church. Mrs. Ballantyne is survived by her son Stephen Ballantyne and his wife Sara, daughter Nena Pennell and her husband Jay; grandchildren William Ballantyne, Jonathan Pennell and his wife Holly, Kevin Pennell; and by a great-granddaughter due in August; half-brother George Hushman and his wife Evelyn; and by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many special friends. Wathena was preceded in death by her husband John in ’79; brother Wally and sister Melissa.
