Frances Lavonne Rawlings Ballou was born in Sioux City, Iowa, on June 30, 1917. She moved with her family to Independence, MO, at age six and was baptized into the RLDS religion at the age of 8. She remained faithful to that religion all of her life. She married Robert Eugene Ballou at the Stone Church on December 21, 1939. She passed away the evening of Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center at Truman and Forest. She is survived by her four children: Judy (Dennis) Bates, Bob (Sue) Ballou, Diane (Mike) Dickey, and Jim Ballou; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Gary Rawlings and Monte ( Betty) Rawlings. Lavonne is preceded in death by her husband Bob, older brother, Robert Rawlings, and a sister, Donna Bell Huston. Services were Monday, February 24, 2014, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
