Alyce Darleen Banes, 82, of Independence died August 7, 2006 at St. Luke�s Hospital. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6-9 p.m. at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Cremation will follow. Alyce was born in Pittsburg, Kansas on July 28, 1924 the daughter of Arthur (Bud) and Alyce White Linton. She was raised in Joplin, Missouri and graduated in Seneca, Missouri. She loved to travel and enjoyed Sunday drives. Her family and grandchildren were very special to her. Alyce enjoyed sports, the outdoors and fishing. She had been a foster parent and worked in the clerical field for Cook Paint, Mermod King, an Insurance Broker and a Trucking Carrier. Alyce married Ronald Banes who survives her. She is also survived by a daughter, Bonnie Gay White and her husband Steven James of Bartlesville, Ok.; three grandchildren, Tuesday Harris and husband Josh, Angela White and Matthew White all of Bartlesville, Ok., a great grandson, Jonathan Wayne Harris of Bartlesville, Ok.; three nieces, Marla Lefrancois and husband Ron, Mary Ann Brown and husband Buzz, Twila Bensinger and husband Joe all of Carson City, Nevada; a nephew Edward (Bud) Keelin of Carson City, Nevada and great niece Becky and great nephew Jesse. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by a sister, Marcella Keelin. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assn. or the Diabetes Foundation.
