Barbara Jean Dinkel

Barbara Jean Dinkel, born in Grandview, Missouri to Robert and Velma Irene (Kreeger) Parker, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on April 12, 2026, in Independence, Missouri.

Barbara led a fulfilling life marked by dedication to her children and career, and a deep love for her family and friends. She worked at a law firm in Blue Springs before continuing her professional journey with the Environmental Protection Agency's Region 7 Office in Kansas City, Kansas, where she served as part of the Regional Administrator's team.

Barbara found joy in simple pleasures such as reading; listening to music, particularly live bands; and entertaining family on the holidays. She especially enjoyed socializing and dancing with friends at the American Legion - Tirey J. Ford Post 21 in Independence, Missouri, where she created many fond memories.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Dinkel. She is survived by her sister, Eleanor Martin; her children, Vici Hughes, Doug Dinkel and his wife Sara, and Tracy Dinkel; her grandchildren, Parker Waite, Ashley Ruzich and her husband Matt, Helen Dinkel, and Millie Dinkel; and one great-granddaughter Sofie Ruzich. Her family will forever hold dear the love, fun-loving humor, and spirit she brought into their lives.

A private family celebration is planned.
