Barbara Ann Huhmann, 83, of Independence, Missouri passed away peacefully at home on November 7, 2024. She was born October 3, 1941 in Eugene, Missouri, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Irene (Frank) Sanning. On June 15, 1963 she was united in marriage to William Huhmann.
Barbara was a graduate of Central Missouri State University and taught Algebra at Raytown High School. Once William and Barbara started a family, she dedicated her life to raising their four children. She lived in Independence, Missouri for the last sixty years. William and Barbara enjoyed spending their days traveling across the United States and hosting foreign exchange students from France, Germany, and Great Britain. Barbara was a long time member and volunteer at St. Mark's Catholic Church.
Barbara is survived by her husband William; sons: Bruce (Mary) of Richmond, VA, Brad (Karrin) of Kansas City, KS, and Byron (Jennifer) of Kansas City, MO; daughter: Beth (Aaron) of Odessa, MO; brothers Richard Sanning (Deb) and James Sanning (Pat); grandchildren: Penelope and Alban Huhmann of Richmond, Virginia and Mia Wilson of Odessa, MO.
A visitation will be held at 10 AM with a funeral mass following at 11 AM on Tuesday November 12, 2024 at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Independence, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Andrew's Catholic School in Tipton, Missouri or to St. Mark's Catholic Church in Independence, Missouri. Burial will follow at 3pm at St. Andrews Cemetery in Tipton, Missouri.
