Carleton Bare, 80, of Kansas City, MO, passed on October 14, 2010. He was born March 30, 1930 in Emporia, Virginia. Carleton was his formal name but he always went by Mike, a name given by his grandmother. Many others knew him as Yogi, as in Yogi Bear, and this was a nickname that stuck like glue. He served in the Air Force for 26 years, retiring in 1973. After a year off, he returned to work in the banking business, which he retired from in 1995. His greatest passion in life was his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris; one son, Greg Lowry; his parents, Minnie and Max; sister Julia; and his niece Deana. He is survived by one daughter, Janet Stultz and husband David; three sons, Mike, Tracy and Bruce Lowry; two grandchildren, April and Andrea Brandt; four great granddaughters, Taylor, Makynna, Jillian and Marley; as well as many other beloved family members and friends. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 18, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Services at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, at the chapel.
