John Clinton Barnes

John Clinton Barnes, of Sibley, Missouri passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. He was 74 years old. John was born to John and Dorothy Barnes on December 29, 1948 in Independence, Missouri.
After graduating from Fort Osage high school in 1967 he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly service his country. Shortly after he married his high school sweetheart, Sue, in 1968. To that union came their son, J.C. John loved his family fiercely and dedicated his life to making sure they were cared for. He spent over 40 years working for the railroad as both a conductor and a switchman. John was an avid hunter and fisherman and took great pride in his outdoorsman skills. Not a day went by that he wasn’t looking forward to his next hunting adventure with his son and grandsons. He was a kind, boisterous man and his silly, jovial presence will be missed beyond measure.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Sue; son, JC (Kathy) Barnes; grandsons, Jeremy and Josh Barnes; sister, Irene Barnes and brother, Gerald Barnes (Brenda).
A private family inurnment will be held at Buckner Hill Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
