Wilma O. Dalton Barnhill, 96, of the Kansas City area, passed away August 9, 2011. A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Services at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 15, at the chapel with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice. Wilma was born February 20, 1915 in Warsaw, MO to Thomas E. and Mary E. (Mothersbaugh) Bradshaw. At one time, Wilma’s passions included playing the organ and dancing. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, John H. Dalton and George C. Barnhill; as well as four children, Dorothy (Dalton) Harrington, Maurice Dalton, Roy E. Dalton and Jack H. Dalton. She is survived by her granddaughter, Renee Harrington and great granddaughter, Adleigh, who dedicated their last six months to love and care for their grandmother. She is also survived by five other grandchildren; twelve other great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. The family would like to take this opportunity to express their gratitude to Crossroads Hospice, especially Leslie and her team for the care and consideration they showed to Wilma.
