Joe Ann Barton

Joe Ann Barton, 77, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010 after a long battle with lung disease. Joe Ann was born September 19, 1932 and was a lifelong resident of Independence, MO. She graduated from Longview Community College with an Associates of Applied Science Degree and retired from Western Auto Corporation after a long career. Joe Ann is preceded in death by her husband, John Barton, and siblings: Willis Smith, Bill Smith, Jim LaRue, Jack LaRue, and Jacqueline LaRue Weitzel. She is survived by her sister-in-laws, Virginia Smith and Ginger LaRue; brother-in-law, Robert Weitzel; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence.
