Louanna Joyce Barton (Stapleton)

Louanna Joyce Barton, 82 of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away, Sunday, November 1, 2015 at her residence. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the chapel. Joyce was born March 28, 1933 in Lexington, MO to LeRoy and Dorothy (Crowe) Stapleton. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Beverly Aker, a brother Danny Stapleton and a granddaughter, Tricia Elizabeth Shanahan. Joyce is survived by; 2 daughters, Debra L. Shanahan and husband Wesley and Patricia Barton and companion Otis Patterson; her brother, Robert Stapleton of Milan, MI; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was an amazing loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who worked hard all of her life raising her 2 daughters. Joyce loved her Royals and they won the World Series just hours after she passed.
