Elmer Barttrum

Elmer William “Bill” Barttrum, 78, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009 in Berea Cemetery in Walker, MO. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Bill was born December 20, 1930 in Sarcoxie, MO to Elmer Wesley and Stella Mary (Williams) Barttrum. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, June (Belcher) Barttrum; sons William Wesley Barttrum and wife Julia; David Worthington Barttrum; grandchildren Lisa Barttrum, Kristi Barttrum and fiancé Knute Bergin, Wesley Adam Barttrum and wife Katie; great-grandchildren Adam, Kelly and Taylor; sisters Margaret Strecker, Helen Basehart and husband Bill. He was preceded in death by his grandson David Wayne Barttrum in ’08.
