Lawrence Basso Sr

Lawrence T. Basso, Sr., 72 of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Pebble Creek Assembly of God Church 13800 E. 51st St., Kansas City, MO 64133. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m., until service time Saturday at the church. Donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society. Lawrence was born August 15, 1939 in Kansas City, MO to Francis Andrew and Margaret Mary (Harvey) Basso and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from Glennen High School in 1957. He had worked as an optician for Duffen’s Optical for over 28 years before he retired in 2005. He enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time with his family. He was married to Mary (Pearman) on December 27, 1958; she precedes him in death. Survivors include; 3 children, Lawrence T. Basso, Jr. and his wife Janet, Marsha Maloney and her husband Danny and Mike Basso and his wife Wendy all of Independence, MO; a sister, Margaret Jones and her husband Terry of Lee’s Summit, MO; a brother, Joe Basso of Lee’s Summit, MO; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
