Harold Bayne

Harold was born October 8, 1916 in Ontario, Canada to William Duncan Bayne & Mildred (Copeland) Bayne. Harold C. Bayne, 95 years old passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012, in Independence, MO.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2012 Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO 64055. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Burial will in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.

On September 1, 1948, Harold moved from Canada to the United States. On October 8, 1948 Harold was wed to Lillian May Muirhead. On December 18, 1950, Harold proudly became a United States Citizen. In 1947 Harold entered Graceland College and later attended Kansas University earning his degree in Electrical Engineering in 1960. He worked for Bendix from 1951 to 1958. He worked as an electrical engineer for Civil Service from 1960 until his retirement on December 31, 1982. Harold has lived in Independence since his retirement. Harold was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on December 4, 1925, becoming a Deacon in March of 1945. Harold remained active in his church all his life. Harold was preceded in death by Lillian Bayne, his wife of 59 years. He is survived by his two sons and their wives, Kevin H. Bayne and wife Faith, Raymond K. Bayne and wife June, one brother Elbert Bayne and three grandchildren. Harold was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.
