Leonard Beale

Cotton Beale, 83, of Independence MO, passed away Saturday, March 30th 2013. A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 2nd from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E 39th Street, Independence. A second visitation will be held from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3rd at Gilleland & McElwain Funeral Home; 220 S. Main St. New Cambria, MO. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at New Cambria Cemetery. Cotton was born February 26th 1930 in Macon Co. to Lincoln and Mabel Beale. After graduating high school he joined the Army and proudly served in the Korean Conflict. When he returned he married Marjorie, and together they had one daughter. Cotton retired as Supervisor for MGE Gas after 35 years. He especially enjoyed gardening, and fishing. He is loved and will be missed. Cotton is survived by his wife, Marjorie of the home; sister, Hazel Hershberger; brothers, Weldon “Ike” Beale of Raytown, MO; and Charles “Chink” Beale of Pleasant Hill. He was preceded in death by daughter, Laura Beale; brothers, Dale Beale; and Bob Beale and his parents
