Olen Beasley

Olen Eugene “Gene” Beasley, 84 of Sugar Creek passed away Mon. Feb. 25, 2008 at North Kansas City Hospital. Visitation will be from 9 �" 11:00 a.m. Sat. Mar. 1, 2008 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 10113 E. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO with the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Mr. Beasley was born on Jan 21, 1924 to Olen and Dorothy (Dacey) Beasley in Kansas City, KS. He had been a Supervisor with Fairbanks-Morris for many years. He was a loving father and friend who enjoyed helping others. He had been named Volunteer Of The Year with Hospice in Kansas City. He had proudly served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and was active in the local Merchant Marines Veterans Group. He was a faithful member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Gene was preceded in death by his wife Irene in 2002. He is survived by a son, Doug Beasley and wife Margaret of Las Vegas, NV; a daughter, Marka Sawyer and husband Tom of Fremont, NE; step mother, Laura Beasley of Lee’s Summit, MO; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many special Kluska and Salva nieces and nephews, in Sugar Creek, MO.
