Lowell Kenneth BeBout, 90 of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Golden Living Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial with full military honors will be in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Wednesday at the chapel. Donations may be made in his name to the Disabled American Veterans. Lowell was born on September 11, 1920 in Tarkio, MO to Harold E. and Genevieve (Smith) BeBout. He enlisted in the US Army in June of 1942 but suffered a disabling injury at Camp Fannan, TX and served just 12 months. His major regret in his life was that he was unable to do more for his country during WWII. In March of 1970 he found happiness with Forestine (Yates) Wade BeBout, whom he met while both were employees of the Montgomery Ward Company in Kansas City. Together they shared his passion for fishing, especially after both retired from Wards. They were blessed with 35 years of marriage until her death in 2005. Survivors include; a granddaughter, Terrie Soper Merritt and husband Bill of Camdenton, MO; a grandson, Cort Collobert of Lexington, MO; great grandson, Cam Soper and his wife Michelle of Smithville, MO; great granddaughter, Jessica Phillips and husband John of Independence, MO; great granddaughters, Katie and Samantha Collobert of Lexington, MO; great grandsons, Connor, Cade and Collin Soper of Smithville, MO; and Hayden and Nathaniel Phillips of Independence, MO; step daughter, Billie Romero and husband Joe of Yucca Valley, CA; a son, Billy E. BeBout and family of Fairfax, MO; more than just neighbors, Curley (Michael) and Deanne Rice of Independence, MO; his friends at the Noland Road Baptist Church; and his extended family of loving caregivers at Golden Living Retirement Center and Ascera Care.
