Charles Lee Beery, Sr. passed away November 22, 2015. He was better known as Chuck and was born on July 17, 1948 in Clarinda, Iowa. Upon graduation from high school he enlisted in the Air Force, and completed 2 tours in South Vietnam and 1 in Thailand. Finishing his obligation to the Air Force, Chuck decided to enlist into the army and became dual service, remaining in the Army Reserves for a number of years. He was truly a veteran at heart boldly expressing his love of country. His occupations consisted of security and protection with a degree in criminal justice. He worked at Penn Valley Community College, Truman Medical Center and a Claycomo Police Officer. In the years since his retirement he is a member of Patriot Guard and held the directorship of the American Legion Riders, Post 61. Chuck had many varied interests including motorcycle riding, horseback riding participating in heading/heeling events in small town rodeos, hunting, trapshooting, NASCAR and modified dirt car racing. He also was the DJ on a Saturday night computer radio show playing music for veterans of World War II, Korean War, Vietnam Era to present day. He was an avid reader owning a full collection of Louis Lamour and W.E.B. Griffin books. Chuck married the love of his life, Margie, on April 13, 1988 blending their family of 4 children. The greatest joy to Chuck was being a grandpa. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. A true friend to many and a Santa to many children. He was friendly to all, reliable, trustworthy and opinionated. He accomplished much in his life and throughout his life remained a true patriot and still wanted to defend his country at age 67. He is survived by his wife Margie Children: CJ Beery, wife Nichole Mary Ann Harrelson, husband Louie Charles David Minnis, wife Kelly Christopher Scot Minnis, wife Kelly Adopted daughter May Fenning, husband Blair 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons and a great grandson coming into this world in January. Brothers: Harry Troncin Doug Goode Allen Beery, Sister: Rosemary Muliken Numerous other family members and friends across the nation. Chuck was devoted to his family and a great example of a true friend. At his request there will be no formal service but he will have his last call to duty with his family and close friends on December 4, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Higginsville, Missouri. A Celebration of Life will be at Pleasant Hill Nebo Baptist Church, 6805 Nebo Hill Road, Liberty, Missouri 64068 at 2:00 to 4:00 pm on December 4, 2015, Family is requesting memorial contributions be made to Pleasant Hill Nebo Baptist Church P.O.
