Belinda Jane Gauthreaux

August 3, 1952 — January 1, 2024

Oak Grove, MO

Belinda Jane Gauthreaux's passing leaves an indescribable void in our lives. Born on August 3, 1952, in Independence, MO to William and Martha Nix, Belinda brought joy and warmth to everyone she encountered. She peacefully departed from this world on January 1, 2024.

Belinda's career spanned many years as a long-time waitress at the TA Travel Center in Oak Grove. Her dedication and genuine care for others shone through in her work, making her beloved by both colleagues and customers. Belinda's infectious smile and friendly nature made every visit to the travel center memorable for those who crossed her path.

Her thirst for knowledge was insatiable. Belinda graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1970 and continued her education throughout her life, attending courses that sparked her interest. Her eagerness to learn served as an inspiration to all who knew her.

One of Belinda's most endearing traits was her ability to talk to anyone and to brighten the spirits of those around her with her captivating stories and animated conversations.  Beyond her career and social circles, Belinda found solace in quilting. This creative pursuit allowed her to channel her imagination into tangible works of art that will forever serve as a testament to her talent and passion.

As proud as she was of her accomplishments, nothing brought greater joy to Belinda's life than being a mother and grandmother.

Survived by her children: Donald "Don" Meisberger, Bryan (Jennifer) Meisberger, Lana (Jack) Hilliard; grandchildren: Corey "Tommy" Presbury and his partner Aidan Woods, Megan (Edward) Speer, Deziree (Nick) Lay, Sierra Haley, Kaitlyn Meisberger, Grey (Ashley) Meisberger, Deiton Meisberger, Samantha Hilliard, Andrew Hilliard; great-grandchildren: Kenton Haley, Lexton Haley, Olivia Speer, Atlas Meisberger, Rune Meisberger, Andrew "AJ" Hilliard, Caroline Hilliard, Luke Brack, Leah Brack, and another on the way. Belinda's love for her family knew no bounds. She not only cherished every moment spent with them but also nurtured and guided them in the most remarkable way.

Belinda's legacy also lives on through her siblings: William "Billy" (Linda) Nix and their children Lindy and Mindy; Donna (Chris) Isaroitis; Martha Wright; Brad (Rene') Nix and their children Andrew, Kyle, and Sara; Jeffery (Miguel Murillo-Nix) Nix; Karen (Jason) Pettes and their son Harry. She was a beacon of love and support to her siblings and their families.

Belinda Jane Gauthreaux will forever be remembered as a cherished friend, a doting mother and grandmother, a dedicated professional, and an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Belinda's life will take place at Three Trails Baptist Church in Independence at a date and time yet to be determinded.
