Margaret Berndt

Margaret “Peggy” Berndt, 87, of Independence, MO passed away July 15, 2008 at Centerpoint Medical Center. A memorial service, as well as the memorial inurnment at the Mound Grove Mausoleum will take place at a later date. Contributions may be made in her name to the Groves. Peggy was born February 21, 1921 in Lansing, Michigan. She was a life-long member of the Community of Christ Church, and supported her husband, Everett in his full time ministry in the Church. Peggy was a talented vocalist, with one of her highest moments being when she sang at the Kansas City Opera Company. She worked for Andes & Robert’s and Kansas City Mortgage Company. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Everett Berndt; daughter, Cynthia Van De Voorde and husband Daryl; granddaughter, Charise Prater and husband John; great grandchildren, Zach, Ally and Kaitlyn. She is also survived by daughter, Elaine Bradford and husband Fred; grandchildren, Scott, Laura, James and Kevin, as well as their children.
